tress is the word on everybody's lips these days.
It seems rare to open a newspaper or magazine without yet another report telling us how much stress we're all under.

According to HSE surveys in 2007 (before the current economic crisis) around 13.6% of all working individuals thought their job was very or extremely stressful. So if nearly 1 in 7 people finds their job to be that stressful what can we do about it?

  1. Reduce the amount of stresses that the affected individuals have to cope with.
  2. Teach individuals to change the way their body and mind cope with stressful situations.

At CMB Training we recognise that stress is all around us and reducing the pressures or workload at your workplace may not be enough. It is not possible to know how much pressure a person is able to deal with without tensions building up and becoming health issues. As we can't have this information we don't know by how much we would need to reduce the stress load on each individual. Reduce it too much and the person becomes bored and demotivated, don't reduce the stress load enough and the tensions continue to accumulate.

The main focus of CMB Training is to teach people how to change the ways they react to stress.

The core of CMB Training is the understanding that our posture and breathing change to adapt to stressful situations. These changes often produce long term health problems chiefly by reducing blood circulation through excess muscle tension. By understanding these processes we can work with groups and individuals and help them to relearn healthy postural and breathing habits. This goes to the root of the problem and has a dramatic effect enabling tense, anxious people to cope with greater demands on them with much greater ease.

We also help individuals learn how to manage their emotions as uncontrolled emotional responses have a very negative effect on our health. Again our methods are different than the norm but are highly effective and can teach you to manage uncontrolled emotions such as anger, panic, some forms of depression, anxiety and so on in a very short time.
